STEP 01

Prepare

Clean, bevel and fit up the joint.

STEP 02

Tack

Tack-weld parts in a jig to hold alignment.

STEP 03

Weld

Lay full welds to the drawing.

STEP 04

Clean & inspect

Remove slag, dress and inspect before finishing.

Reference figures

What to expect.

Typical industry values to help you plan. We agree the figures for your part on the drawing.

Design guidance
  • Use tab-and-slot features to self-locate parts.
  • Allow torch access to every joint.
  • Specify weld symbols and cosmetic welds.
Best suited toFrames, stands, trolleys, mould-tray frames and guards.
Watch-outsHeat distortion; stainless needs post-weld cleaning to stay corrosion resistant.
