Replacement formliners · Matching from a sample

Matching a formliner from a sample.

Building a replacement liner to match one from another supplier, using an offcut, a panel or the worn liner itself.

Overview

Matching from a sample, in plain terms.

Cast sample, old liner offcut and new impression for matching
Using surviving samples to rebuild a lost pattern

Sometimes the original supplier has gone, or the pattern is lost. We can build a new pattern from what's left.

The best source is a good cast panel; next best is the liner itself.

What sets it apart

Four things that define this route.

01

From a cast panel

Moulded from a clean panel face.

02

From the worn liner

Restored on the pattern.

03

From an offcut

Small samples scaled up.

04

Match approval

Sample panel before production.

How we build it

From pattern to released tool.

We take a mould from the source, create a pattern, restore any wear, and pour the new liner.

A sample is cast for comparison.

The honest bit

What to know before you commit.

A match from a worn source may differ slightly from the original new liner. We'll show you the sample first.

The liner is fixed to the formwork face. When the concrete is struck, the texture stays on the panel and the liner is ready to reuse.

FAQs

Questions we hear about this.

Can you match a discontinued texture?

Often, from a panel.

Do you need the whole liner?

No, a representative section is enough.

Get in touch

Send us a photograph of the panel or the elevation.

One photograph tells us what surface you're chasing, and one line about the mix tells us what silicone or polyurethane will survive it.
