GRC tooling · GRC column tooling

GRC column tooling for lightweight columns and cladding shells.

Split moulds for GRC column shells and casings that clad structural columns — plain, fluted or tapered — without the weight of solid precast.

Overview

GRC column tooling, in plain terms.

GRC column casings let a steel or concrete structural column read as a classical or feature column without solid-cast weight.

We build split moulds for half-shells or full shells, with the joint on a flute arris or at the back.

What sets it apart

Four things that define this route.

01

Half-shell casings

Two halves that clad a structural column.

02

Fluted and plain

Profiles to suit the elevation.

03

Capital and base

Separate decorative tooling.

04

Light to fix

Suits refurb and retrofit.

How we build it

From pattern to released tool.

The pattern defines the external profile; the mould is split to make shells of consistent thickness.

We coordinate the internal clearance with whoever details the fixing to the structural column.

The honest bit

What to know before you commit.

Fixing design is yours or your engineer's. We'll work to it.

FAQs

Questions we hear about this.

Can you clad an existing column?

Yes, with shells sized from site measurements.

Tapered columns?

Yes, modelled on the pattern.

Send us a photograph of the panel or the elevation.

One photograph tells us what surface you're chasing, and one line about the mix tells us what silicone or polyurethane will survive it.
